Seeking a Coordinator for the Finland Farmers Market!
Stefan Meyer, our long-time Farmers Market Coordinator, is phasing out of this position this season, so we are on the lookout for a new coordinator to fill some pretty big (slightly muddy) shoes!
Position helps with promotion of the Market in any way possible, including print ads, news articles, website, Facebook, posters, and flyers, with support from Friends of Finland Communications Lead. Position sets up for the Market – making sure vendors (or musicians) have what they need. During the Market, position oversees handling of credit cards/EBT/Farmers Market Bucks/Power of Local programs for attendees, tallies and tracks numbers of vendors and customers, takes photos for documentation and promotional purposes, and collects and tracks vendor fees. Position leads and oversees after Market cleanup, helping to put everything away and leave the Pavilions in a clean state, then tallies and enters numbers into online spreadsheets. Position coordinates with potential and new vendors, and also works with Finland Food Chain staff and other community entities as they work to enhance the Market with educational demonstrations and special events. Position calls vendor meetings as needed for important decisions that affect the group. Position works with vendors on COVID-19 guidelines and requirements for the Market and ensures that customers are following the posted rules. Position tracks their own hours and submits an invoice to Friends of Finland monthly. Position is part-time. Approximate hours: 4-7 hours a week. Rate of pay: $15-17/hour. This is currently a contract position – no taxes are taken out – you will receive a 1099 at the end of the year and you are responsible for paying the taxes on the money you make.
