Finland Farmers Market 2016 – Record Year!
The 2016 Finland Farmers Market ran a week longer than previous years, had more vendors than ever before, and had a record number of customers throughout the season.
“I thought we were really achieving our dream in 2015 when we had a night with 7 vendors and someone selling live turkeys out of the back of their pickup truck,” Honor Schauland, Farmers Market Manager commented, “This year, with 7-9 vendors nearly every week, and record attendance, I would say that the Finland Farmers Market is a huge success.”
All of this was despite the frustrating timing of the Cramer Road Construction. “We definitely lost people who didn’t want to try to make it through the construction each week,” Honor said, “But there were a lot of folks who came anyway, chatted with us awhile, made their purchases and went home. The Farmers Market has become a great place to socialize!”
The Final Market evening of the season was October 6th, and featured local musicians Heather Brown and Andrew Norcross playing old timey music, as well as a parade of tractors by members of the Northshore Tractor Club on the Cramer Road to celebrate the end of construction.
The Finland Farmers Market would like to thank all of the vendors for the 2016 season, the Northshore Tractor Club, Heather and Andrew, and our many dedicated customers who made the season such a success.
Pending a vendor meeting, next year’s Market will also be Thursdays from 5pm-6:30pm, and the exact dates will be advertised closer to the season.
