Friends of Finland is a vibrant nonprofit organization supporting a wide variety of community programs, and we have grown to where we are looking for a person with organizational expertise to strengthen and expand the work we do. Deadline to apply is February 9th or until the position is filled. 

The Operations Lead position handles the work of keeping the Friends of Finland entity and the Clair Nelson Center building and grounds organized and running smoothly. This involves getting the mail, making deposits and withdrawals, procuring supplies and equipment, tracking Center usage, maintaining calendars, scheduling rentals, scheduling and working with kitchen businesses, overseeing repairs and maintenance, shipping and receiving, updating organization mailing and donor lists, and being the primary interface with the public at the Clair Nelson Center.

Position requires working collaboratively with other core staff to uphold the organizational mission and vision, cocreate staff culture, participate on the hiring committee for new core staff and organizational support staff, hold each other accountable and deal with staff issues as they arise. Position requires regular participation in strategic visioning, core staff meetings, and communication platforms. Position will work with other core staff to facilitate and mentor projects/programs through training and assistance, volunteer coordination, grant writing, and community capacity building. Position also requires acting as a Community Liaison by hosting the public using the Clair Nelson Center, providing information, upholding safety and security onsite, and facilitating and tracking community usage and impact. 

The position requires you to regularly use Google Drive, Slack and Microsoft software. The person in this position should be comfortable with phone, email and in-person communication regarding building usage and staff and community needs.

Currently the position is part-time at 12-14 hours/week, but we expect this to increase to 20 hours/week in the coming year. The position requires you to be on-site at the Clair Nelson Center a minimum of 2 days per week, but some work can be done remotely. The current rate of pay is $22/hour, with an expected raise in the next year. We offer an HRA plan that covers health care expense reimbursement of $50 per month, a Simple IRA matching program, as well as vacation, holiday, and sick pay.
