This month, we’d like to introduce you to a member of our Youth Program staff: Janice Daniel. Janice is originally from the Philippines and moved to the North Shore 4 years ago. She says “In the first year we moved here it was very hard for me to adapt to a new environment: the language, weather and having no friends”. She says she would often miss her home in the Philippines. But after she got her first job (at Friends of Finland’s Youth Program), the North Shore began to feel like home to her. She says, “The people in the community are very nice and friendly.”

Janice likes to spend time with her family, going camping, hiking, and fishing. She also likes exploring the beautiful tourist spots in the area. Janice enjoys singing, watching Tom Cruise movies, and traveling. She even has a trip planned to Myrtle Beach this fall. Janice’s favorite saying is “Life is short, so love your life, be happy, and keep smiling”.
