This month, we’d like to introduce you to a member of our Youth Program staff: Melody Baerg. Baerg didn’t grow up on the north shore of Lake Superior; she moved here when her husband got a Job in Tofte, MN. Baerg has enjoyed getting to know the Finland community. “I like this place because the people are so nice,” says Baerg. She goes on to say “I feel that this place is quiet and safe for my family, and the neighbors are amazing”.

In addition to working for the Friends of Finland Youth Program, Baerg enjoys volunteering as a Sunday School teacher at Bay Area Vineyard Church. Outside of work, Baerg says she enjoys designing her landscape at home and going on fun adventures with her family. Baerg has a passion for helping people in need, and she says she also loves cooking food for people. She also enjoys tutoring students, playing badminton, and listening to music.

Baerg is also looking to the future, saying that she hopes to run her own business someday. She also hopes to travel, listing Disneyland and the Philippines as possible destinations.
