Get Ready for the Finland Farmers Market 2019!

We are able to accept credit cards, EBT and Snap Benefits! We have a system in place for this where folks needing to use any of these options can approach Stefan Meyer, our Farmers Market Coordinator, who can swipe a card and give the customer Farmers Bucks to spend with any vendor at the Market. Vendors are reimbursed for Farmers Market Bucks at the end of each market session. We are excited to have the opportunity to help folks of all different economic situations patronize our Market and have access to healthy food.

Something new this year is the Power of Produce (PoP) Club for kids ages 3-15! A PoP Club is an incentive program that empowers children to make healthy food choices. Each week, participating children receive a $2 token to spend on fresh fruits, vegetables, and other healthy foods. Parents and kids who want to participate may sign up at the weekly Market with Stefan Meyer, the Market Coordinator. The Finland Farmers Market was started in 2014 as part of an effort to focus on local food in the Finland MN Area as an economic development strategy. The idea is to make space for local producers to sell their goods in their own community. The Clair Nelson Center also has a commercial kitchen space that is MDA certified and available for those taking that next step and creating a food product for retail sale.
